The K9 Guide to Hebden Bridge

Hebden Bridge is a picturesque town set in West Yorkshire nestled alongside the Rochdale Canal. The town is known for its welcoming atmosphere, quirkiness and creativity and has been hailed by British Airways’ High Life magazine as ‘one of the world’s funkiest towns’.

If you are a fan of independent shops, scenic countryside and community spirit you should definitely pay this bohemian beauty spot a visit.

Hardcastle Crags

Set a 5-minute drive outside the town Hardcastle Crags is a National Trust site that is a beautiful wooded valley made up of crisscrossed footpaths weaving over 15 miles alongside streams and waterfalls. Entry is free although you have to pay £5 to park and you need change as it doesn’t accept card or phone payments.

There are two car parks to choose from Clough Hole Car Park- HX7 7AZ and Midgehole Car Park – HX7 7AA. We recommend arriving early as they get very busy.

In the middle of the valley woodland, you’ll find Gibson Mill, a historic cotton mill which now serves as a visitor centre, toilets, café and shop and dogs are welcome inside if well behaved.

There are 5 main trails plotted out on the map when you arrive and they range from 1.6km to 4.8km depending on how energetic you are feeling.
